2.12.2 Operation of the SmartStation located at the AER Scope Washer
To ensure that a scope is correctly processed before storage, the SmartStation and
Barcode Scanner are used to identify:
1. AER Chamber Barcodes Eg Washer 1, Chamber 2
2. Operator ID Barcode Staff Name Badge
3. Scope ID Barcode Scope Barcode located on the Scope
Handpiece
4. Time and Date Is added by the system to the scanned data
The scope is identified as Processed or Cleaned
NOTE : The Scope Cleaning Process should have occurred in alignment with Scope
manufacturer and AER manufacturer instructions for use (IFU), and in an “Approved
Endoscope Reprocessing Cycle”, as per the hospital guidelines in your region.
AER Chamber Barcode Labels are used to identify each AER Washer and each
Washer Chamber as a unique identifier.
The AER Chamber Barcode Labels are set up at installation by the Authorised
Distributor.
AER Chamber Barcode Labels are fixed to each AER Chamber to identify specifically
which washer and washer chamber that the scope is processed through, along with
Operator ID, Scope ID and Time/Date.
NOTE: If an AER is removed for service or replaced by a new AER, then please contact
your Sales Representative to get new AER Chamber Identification Barcode Stickers
fitted to the new AER
