An IP address consists of 4 bytes, ranging from 0 to 255, the
bytes are separated by dots. The last two bytes contain the
host information, which can be picked freely. At least one digit
of your personal computer’s host information needs to differ
from that of the IP-Gateway to avoid the IP addresses conflict
-
ing.
As default the IP-Gateway has the APIPA address
169.254.116.52, i. e. in this case the last byte is
52
.
Thus you can choose for your personal computer for example
169.254.116.
