I f t he connect ed product s have no offset feat ure, t he
com pass m ust be deck or bulkhead m ount ed at hwart ship
wit h t he cable gland point ing back.
Select a locat ion t hat provides a solid m ount ing place free
from vibrat ion, and as close t o t he vessel's cent re of roll
and pit ch as possible, i.e. close t o t he wat er line. I t
should be as far as possible from dist urbing m agnet ic
int erference e.g. engines ( m in. 2 m et ers) , engine ignit ion
cables, ot her large m et al obj ect s and part icularly t he
aut opilot drive unit . On st eel hull boat s it should be
m ount ed 0,75- 1 m above t he wheel house on a non
m agnet ic st and.
The com pass face plat e is t he TOP. Nev er m ount it upside
down! Level t he sensor as close t o horizont al as possible.
Use t he supplied m ount ing kit and drill holes t hrough t he
cent re of t he slot s.
Connect t he com pass t o an available Sim Net connect or in
t he Sim Net “ backbone” .
