6.2 Replacing the Application Processor

6.2.1

Overview

The Application Processor chassis should be replaced whenever a problem is detected with the
motherboard.

•

The size of the Application Processor chassis, requires two people to lift it safely.

6.2.5

Prepare the Cabinet

The following procedure describes how to safely shutdown the COPAN 400T/TX in
preparation for servicing the system.

1. Have the customer stop all I/O to the VTL server being serviced.

2. Using the PSM-KVM GUI, open the VTL Console and connect to the VTL being serviced.

3. Log in and move tapes to the slots.

4. Execute an X-RAY.

5. Log in to the PSM.

6. Save the VTL configuration to the PSM.
