The CP acknowledges a request of the master with its reply frames.
The acknowledgment of frames that the CP sends to the master is configured with the
parameters "Connection confirmation" and "Monitoring time for unsolicited frames", see
section Transmission settings – DNP3 (Page 75).

IEC
The CP acknowledges a request of the master with its reply frames.
The acknowledgment of frames that the CP sends to the master is configured with the
parameters "Send sequence number" and "Receive sequence number", see section
Transmission settings - IEC (Page 77).
Open User Communication
The successful sending and receipt of frames is indicated by status displays of the program
blocks.
With TCP segments, the protocol-specific acknowledgement mechanisms are used.

Configuration in STEP 7 Basic
Requirement
The complete configuration of the CP in STEP 7 Basic is only possible after configuring in
STEP 7 V5 (see above).
Overview of configuration in STEP 7 Basic
Follow the steps below when configuring:
1.
Create a STEP 7 project.
2.
Insert the S7-1200 CPU for the SIMATIC station.
3.
Create the PLC tags required for the data points in the CPU, see also point 7.
4.
Select the CP 1243-8 in the catalog and set the firmware version of the CP in the catalog
using the "Version" drop-down list.

To use the CP with the functions of a TIM 3V-IE Advanced in a SINAUT ST7 system,
select version V2.1.

In all other cases, select a version with V3.0 or higher.
5.
Insert the CP selected in the catalog into the stations.
6.
Importing configuration data from STEP 7 V5:
The function is supported only for the CP with firmware version V2.1. If you are using the
CP with firmware version V3, continue at step 7.
