WARNING
Risk of fire through expansion cards
Expansion cards generate additional heat. The device may overheat and cause a fire.
Please note the following:
•
Observe the safety and installation instructions for the expansion cards.
•
If in doubt, install the device in an enclosure that is compliant with requirements to
sections 4.6 and 4.7.3 of the EN 60950-1:2006 and IEC/UL/EN/DIN-EN 60950-1
standards.
NOTICE
Points to note with expansion cards
Expansion cards may impose restrictions on the installation location (fire-proof enclosure)
and permitted mounting positions (see Technical specifications (Page 115)). If the device
has been fitted with expansion cards, please observe the safety and installation instructions
for the expansion cards in the corresponding documentation.
If in doubt, install the device in an enclosure that is compliant with IEC/UL/EN/DIN-EN
60950-1, sections 4.6 and 4.7.3.
NOTICE
Ambient conditions when using PCIe cards
When using PCIe cards, the relevant conditions of use regarding the ambient temperature
of the PCIe cards themselves must be taken into consideration.
The temperature in the PCIe slot of the IPC is around 15° C higher than the ambient
temperature.
This means the maximum permissible ambient temperature may be lower than for the
IPC427 alone.
