Meaning
VT-d
VT-d (Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O) is hard-
ware support for the shared use of I/O devices by multiple
virtual machines.
When VT-d is enabled, VMM (Virtual Machine Monitor) sys-
tems can use it to manage multiple virtual machines access-
ing the same physical I/O device.
When VT-d is disabled, it is not available for VMM.
Interrupt remapping
The virtualization software has direct access to interrupts.
Pass-Through DMA
The virtualization software has direct access to DMA chan-
nels.
