Setting the PROFIBUS address of the IM 157

Definition

Each bus node must receive a PROFIBUS address so that it can be uniquely
identified on PROFIBUS-DP.

Rules

The following rules apply to the PROFIBUS address of the IM 157 in the higher
level DP master system:

The valid PROFIBUS addresses are: 1 to 125.

Each PROFIBUS address can only be assigned once in a DP master system.

For redundant operation, the same PROFIBUS address must be set for both
IM 157 modules.

Required tool

To set the PROFIBUS address, you require a 3 mm screwdriver.
