Speed  zero  monitoring  can  be  activated  for  each  drive  that  is  connected  to  the

gateway and signals when a drive is at standstill. Safety monitoring prevents an unin‐

tentional start of the drive from standstill.

4.7.1

Configuration of OSSD Monitoring

In order to reach the functional safety of SIL3 (Safety Integrity Level 3 according to DIN

EN 61800-5-2:2014-06) both channels (

OSSD_SAFEA and OSSD_SAFEB as well as

OSSD_ZEROA and OSSD_ZEROB) must be connected to a safety PLC. A control via

only one channel is not sufficient for SIL3.

Fig. 3: Safety connection with OSSD (SIL3)

Fig. 4: Speed zero connection with OSSD (SIL3)

To obtain the safety level SIL3 the safety PLC as well as the drive have to be

certificated safety devices of at least level SIL3.

You set the speed zero monitoring in the configuration mode via the 16 DIP switches at

the  bottom  side  of  the  gateway.  On  delivery  of  the  gateway  no  drive  is  selected  for

speed  zero  monitoring  (all  DIP  switches  are  set  to  zero).  Configure  the  speed  zero

monitoring for the desired drives as described in the following.

Speed zero monitoring with OSSD signals

➮ Select the drives to be monitored by means of the DIP switches. For further infor‐

mation  on  the  drive  selection  refer  to

section  6.1.4  "Drive  Selection  Switches",

page 30

.

➮ Turn the operating mode selection switch MODE to '9' (configuration: speed zero

with OSSD signals).

➮ The status LEDs of the selected drives flash red at the gateway. Check the drive

selection by means of the LEDs and correct it, if required.
