Safety information
Before you start to work on the Ranger-X3 you must read, understand and the follow the
safety information provided in Ranger-X3 Safety Notes.
Documentation, warning, and certification requirements are the obligation of the Integrator.
The Integrator must make sure that the device is compliant with the EU EMC Directive
(2014/30/EU).
If the Ranger-X3 is integrated with a laser device, the Integrator must make sure that the
device is compliant with a valid laser safety standard.
NOTICE
Do not disassemble any of the modules of the Ranger-X3.
Be careful when handling Ranger-X3.
Ranger-X3 consists of two modules connected with a flex cable. The two modules contain
sensitive electronic components without mechanical protection and the flex cable is sensitive
to mechanical stress. A bending radius smaller than 1.5 mm may damage the cable. The flex
cable may break after more than 10 bending cycles.
Risk of serious damage to electronic components through electrostatic discharges (ESD).
There is a risk of severe damage to electronic components through potential equalization
when touching the modules.
➢
Equalize yourself and the modules to the same electrical potential (by grounding for
example) before touching the modules.
WARNING
Dangerous equipotential bonding currents!
Improper grounding can lead to dangerous equipotential bonding currents, which may in turn
lead to dangerous voltages on metallic surfaces, such as the housing. Electrical voltage can
cause severe injury or death.
➢
Work on electrical systems must only be performed by qualified electricians.
➢
Install the grounding for the sensor and the system in accordance with national and
regional regulations.
Electrical voltage!
Electrical voltage can cause severe injury or death.
➢
The power supply must be disconnected when attaching and detaching electrical
connections.
➢
The sensor must only be connected to a voltage source as set out in the requirements
in the operating instructions.
➢
National and regional regulations must be complied with.
➢
Safety requirements relating to work on electrical systems must be complied with.
➢
Do not power the device before it is installed into a housing
