Product description

This chapter provides information on the operation of the safety light curtain and shows
examples of its range of use.

3.1

Structure and function

Overview

The miniTwin4 safety light curtain consists of 2 identical twin sticks. Each twin stick
contains both the sender as well as the receiver unit,

see figure 1, page 11

. The two

twin sticks are installed so that each sender and receiver unit are located opposite one
another.

Twin stick

Safety light curtain principle

The protective field is between the two twin sticks and is defined by the protective field
height and the protective field width.

The two twin sticks automatically synchronize themselves optically. Each twin stick pro‐
vides an OSSD and a so-called multifunctional connection. The OSSDs are integrated
into the machine controller. Either a reset button or an EDM can be connected to the
multifunctional connections.
