Extraction region
Data from the sensor is used to output either the raw data, i.e. a standard 2D image, or
the 3D profile data.
The region of interest (ROI) is the area within the laser plane in which the device will
look for a profile to capture. The parts of a profile that are outside the ROI are either
ignored (if to the right or the left of the ROI) or treated as missing data (if above or
below the ROI).
