Problem
Received image is distorted.
Check and Remedy
l
If something on the telephone line is wrong,
images may be distorted due to noise. Call
the transmitting side and ask them to trans-
mit the documents again.
l
The recording head may be dirty. Clean it with
a soft cloth dampened with ethyl alcohol.
(Refer to “Cleaning the Recording Head” on

Make a copy of another document on your
facsimile unit. (Refer to “Copy Function” on
p.54.) If the images are still distorted, your unit
may have a problem.
Copied images are unusual.
l
Make sure that the paper roll is properly load-
ed in your facsimile unit. (Refer to “Replac-
ing the Recording Paper” on

Make sure that the recording paper specified
for your facsimile unit is used. (Refer to
“Recommended Thermal Recording Paper”
on

The recording head may be dirty. Clean it with

When the copied images are extraordinarily
distorted, make a copy of another document
for comparison. If the image of the other
document is also distorted, your unit may
have a problem.
No polling reception occurs.

Confirm that recording paper is not exhaust-
ed in your unit.
l
Confirm that the remote transmitting unit is
in the auto receive mode.
l
Confirm that the document is loaded in the
remote transmitting unit.
l
If the remote unit has a polling security func-
tion, make sure that your phone number has
been registered.
l
Confirm that the remote transmitting unit has
the polling function.
