3. Assembly and connections

Plug the power lead into a standard voltage, earthed AC outlet.
•
The fax does not have a power on/off switch, so the power is
turned on and off by simply plugging or unplugging the power
lead.

Connect the handset lead to the handset and the fax as shown.
•
The ends of the handset lead are identical, so they will go into
either socket.
Place the handset on the handset rest.

Attach the received document tray by inserting the tabs into the
holes in the rear of the fax.

Insert one end of the telephone line cord into the socket on the
back of the fax marked "TEL. LINE". Insert the other end into the
telephone socket on the wall.

Be sure to plug the line cord into the TEL. LINE socket on the
fax. Do not plug it into the TEL. SET socket.
4. Loading printing paper
The paper tray holds the paper on which received documents and
copies are printed. Up to 300 sheets of A4 size paper from 60 to 90
g/m
2
can be loaded in the tray. For the best results, we recommend
that you use Sharp FO-16NC (A4 size) or paper.

If the paper tray is in the fax machine, remove the cover. Grasp
the end of the paper tray, lift it slightly, and pull it out of the fax
machine.

Important: You must remove the paper tray from the fax ma-
chine to add paper.

Push the pressure plate down until it locks into position.

Fan the paper and then place it in the paper tray, print side up.
Make sure the corners of the paper go under the holders, and
then shake the tray gently to straighten the paper.
Use the handset to make ordinary
phone calls, or to transmit and
receive documents manually.
