Other disc play features
This section explains how to use skip, resume, slow motion, and other playback fea-
tures.
Chapter skip
Whilst a disc is playing, press the
PRESET
X
or

button.

The

PRESET
button skips to the next chapter.
The
PRESET
X
button skips to the beginning of the current chapter.
Press the
PRESET
X
button again to skip to the beginning of the
previous chapter.
You can also press the
/
or
/
button on the remote control for the
same operation.
Notes:
Chapter information on some discs may not appear on the screen.
You may not be able to use this function with certain discs.
To resume playback after stopping

Whilst the disc is playing, press the button at the point you want to stop.
The system stores the point you stopped.

To restart play, press the

button.
Play resumes from a point slightly before the point it was stopped.
Press the
0
button to resume disc play, if auto playback starts from the begin-
ning of the disc when you reload the same disc after removing it.
This resume operation does not work in the following cases:
If you press the button twice.
If you press the button during auto playback.
If you remove a disc and then load another one.
Notes:
Resume playback is disabled on audio CDs.
After you press the button to stop playback, you can press the button again
and

button to resume playback from the beginning of the disc.
This operation may not be performed with certain types of discs.
Slow-motion play

Whilst a disc is playing, press the SLOW

Three speeds are available. Each time the button is pressed, the speed of slow-
motion playback changes in the following sequence:

1 (about 1/2)
→
2 (about 1/8)
→
3 (about 1/16)

button to return to the normal playback.
Notes:
On some discs, the slow-motion playback functions are disabled.
Slow-motion playback is disabled on audio CDs.
