Congratulations for buying the X-Feeder.

The

sera X-Feeder

is a modern, closed automatic feeder

with integrated screw conveyor. It can be programmed in

many ways, and can feed both granules as well as flake food

crushed in advance for aquarium or terrarium care (young

terrapins). Due to its food container being sealed against

moisture from atmospheric air it can be used above an

aquarium. Aerating the food by an air pump is not necessary.

General function description

The X-Feeder is a modern automatic feeder that can be

programmed individually. 1 – 10 portions can be fed up to

4 times daily at any times freely selectable. A strong conveyor

drive delivers the food, be it granules or flakes, at feeding

time, and supplies it through the food opening, which then

closes immediately after. The device is hermetically sealed

and does not allow air moisture to enter. The included

accessories allow installation at/above all typical aquariums.

Warning!

1. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do

not play with the appliance. Operation by children

under 8 years is not permitted. The appliance can be

used by children above 8 years as well as by persons

with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities,

or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have

been given supervision or instruction concerning use

of the appliance and have understood the dangers

arising thereof. Children must not play with the

appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not

be carried out by children unless they are above

8 years old and under supervision. Keep the

appliance and its accessories out of the reach of

children below 8 years of age.

2. Children must not have access to batteries. Children

can swallow batteries. If the battery compartment

does not close properly any more, do not continue to

use the product and keep it out of the reach of

children. In case a battery was swallowed, medical

help must be searched immediately.

3. ATTENTION: Danger of explosion in case of wrong

battery handling. Replace only with the same or

identical battery type.

4. The X-Feeder must not be operated with

rechargeable batteries!

5. Batteries must not be exposed to heat. Avoid direct

sunlight and fire!

6. Check batteries regularly as to avoid leaking

batteries.

7. The X-Feeder must not be submerged in water, and

the installation location must be protected against

possible water leaks.

8. The appliance must be protected against rain or

frost. Usage is permitted only indoors.

9. Accessories of the appliance must only be used for

the intended purpose at the automatic feeder. Obey

general rules for handling tools or small parts. This

includes protection of small children as to prevent

small parts such as batteries being swallowed.

Always keep plastic bags out of the reach of children

so they do not become a threat of suffocating.

10. Please remove the batteries first before conducting

maintenance and cleaning measures at the X-Feeder.

Remove the feeder and lay it aside before conducting

work in the aquarium.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

1. The battery state should first be checked before use

after a longer break.

2. It is advisable to install new batteries before being

absent for a longer time.

3. Remove BOTH batteries from the battery compartment

before a longer non-usage period.

4. The time must be set anew after every battery change or

after switching between summer and winter time. The

automatic feeder does not replace a clock!

5. The delivered portion strongly depends on grain size and

evenness of the food, therefore test feeding must by all

means be conducted before being absent.

6. Remove food remainders from the food container before

a longer non-usage period. It is recommended to clean

the container thoroughly.

7. We recommend using alkaline batteries of good quality

for the X-Feeder.

8. The X-Feeder should be installed as far as possible from

the water current of the water pump or the air outlet of

the air pump.
