Setting the time

First set the time of the automatic feeder. Press the SET key

“Gear wheel symbol” (d) to do so, now the time display will

blink. First set “hours” with +/- (b/c), press SET key (d) and

change to set “minutes”, then set minutes with +/- keys

(b/c)*. Confirm with the SET key (d). Now the first symbol for

feeding “Feeding symbol” (f) will be active and blinking. The

at the maximum 4 feeding times and food amounts up to

10 portions can be programmed to do so.

* The time is automatically saved after the time has been

blinking for 3 seconds without confirmation by pressing the

SET key (d).

Feeding settings

While the first symbol for feeding (f) is blinking, confirm hour

s/- with SET key (d) and switch to minute setting

with +/- for setting the time of the first feeding. Afterwards,

the food amount display “00” will be blinking together with

the first fish symbol and the “Food delivery symbol”. The

food amount for the first feeding can now be set. Increase the

number of portions to be fed with +/-. Up to 10 portions per

feeding event are possible. Confirm with SET key (d). Now

the display will jump to the second fish symbol and “00:00”.

Confirm feeding time and number of portions in the same

way as with the first feeding time again. The third and fourth

feeding times are handled in the same manner. Finally, press

the SET key (d). Now the time will be shown in the display

again. If you wish to feed less than four times a day: Do not

touch the keys of the automatic feeder for a few seconds

after the last entry. The display will return to time. Feeding

settings will be saved automatically. The default food amount

setting is “0”.

Changing present settings

Press the SET key (d). Now the time can be changed. Press

the SET key again. Now the feeding time 1 and the amount

can be changed with +/-. Press the SET key. Now the feeding

time 2 and the amount can be changed with +/-, etc.

If you wish to delete a feeding time, repeat the above steps

until the food amount display (g) blinks together with the

corresponding symbol for feeding (f) and the food delivery

display (i). Press the minus key (c) until the food amount has

been reduced to “00”. Finally press the SET key (d).

Manual feeding

Press the On/Off key (a) for approximately 1 second if you

wish to feed manually. The feeding process will be triggered.

This function allows checking the correct supply amount

before using the appliance. For testing, it is advisable to use

a white paper sheet as a mat onto which the food is

supposed to fall.

During food delivery, the feeding display (i) in the bottom right

of the display will be blinking. Do not interfere by pressing

further keys while feeding is activated.

Application ranges

The

sera X-Feeder

must exclusively be used indoors for

delivering and supplying dry food with a grain size between

0.5 – approximately 2.5 mm at room temperature to

aquarium/terrarium inhabitants via the aquarium water.

Sharp edged morsels must not get into the food container.

Operation

Two AA size alkaline batteries are required for operating the

automatic feeder. Open the battery compartment and put the

batteries in correctly and according to the markings. Close

the compartment with the lid (2). Press the On/Off key for

3 seconds. The display will show “00:00”. Programming can

now start.

Note:

Please do not use rechargeable batteries. The battery

charge state is shown in the display. In case of a blinking

symbol the batteries must be replaced soon.
