6. SAFETY REGULATIONS
Never allow the lamp to contact flame, hot items (e.g. a hot plate) and with flammable
liquids, gases and solids.
Safety indications:
1. Device supply voltage: approx. 230 V.
2. Before replacing a fluorescent tube disconnect the power supply.
3. Touching a hot fluorescent tube risks burns.
4. Protect the device against shocks.
5. Don’t cover the device with any substance and do not wash the device under running
water.
6. Protect the device against water. Do not store the device in humid rooms.
7. Do not touch the device with a humid or wet hand.
8. This equipment can be used by children at least 8 years of age and people with re-
duced physical, mental capabilities, and those wo lack of experience and knowledge,
if supervision or instruction concerning the use of equipment in a safe manner will
be ensured, so that the associated threats were understandable. Children should not
play with the equipment. Children should not be allowed to perform the cleaning and
maintenance of equipment.
9. Only use the device in accordance with its intended use.
10. Do not use the device if the power supply cable is damaged, or if the device was in
contact with water.
11. Protect children against contact with elements of the packaging and with accessories
which may be accidentally swallowed.
12. Do not hold or pull the device by the power cable. Pull the power cable from the socket
using the plug.
13. Protect the power cable against damage or overheating.
14. Do not store or use the device near water (e.g. near the bathtub).
15. UV radiation may damage eyes and skin. It may cause accelerated aging of the skin,
and in extreme cases a skin tumour. When the device is used protective eyewear is
recommended to minimise the risk of adverse effects. The intensity of the aforemen-
tioned symptoms is influenced by the quality and frequency of the use of the device
and the sensitivity of the user’s skin and eyes.
16. Not using eye protection may result in damage to the retina or in a cataract. In extre-
me cases an operated cataract may return.
17. The following persons should avoid exposure to UV fluorescent tube radiation: per-
sons with a propensity for sun burns, people with burns, pregnant women, persons
with a skin tumour or with a genetic propensity for tumours.
18. After 10 minutes of continuous exposition of the skin to radiation a break of 30 minu-
tes is required. The UV lamps should not be used more frequently than 200 times a
year.
19. Do not use the device with a broken timer.
20. Do not use the device without a timer.
