The problem may be in the lock. Replace the lock.
Symptom 10:
The upper right red LED on the ID Exit Panel is flashing and the lock will NOT lock.
Potential causes and corrective actions
:
There may be a problem with the fire alarm relay in the fire alarm control panel. The ID Exit Panel
must be connected to a normally open or normally closed, dry alarm relay.
The fire alarm system has been activated into an alarm condition. Remove the fire alarm wire from the
ID Exit Panel. The red LED should stop flashing. If the flashing continues, replace the ID Exit Panel.
If flashing stops, replace the fire alarm wire.
If multiple ID Exit Panels are connected to an individual fire alarm relay, all panels must be turned on
and wire polarity must be identical on all panel connections
Verify programming. The ID Exit Panel can be programmed to look for an open or a short during
activation of the fire alarm. (Refer to programming instructions in
Section 9
of this manual.)
Symptom 11:
The ID Exit Panel does not release the lock when the fire alarm system is activated.
Potential causes and corrective actions
:
The fire alarm relay is not connected or not working properly.
There is a possible open circuit in the fire alarm interface wiring. Disconnect the fire alarm wire from
the fire alarm relay and the ID Exit Panel. Test the cable for an open circuit. If no open is found, test
the fire alarm interface on the ID Exit Panel. Provide a short on the panel interface output. If the ID Exit
Panel is programmed to look for a short upon fire alarm activation, the lock should release and the ID
Exit Panel should beep. (Refer to programming instructions in
Section 9
of this manual.)
Symptom 12:
The Remote Keypad with the ID Exit Panel does NOT work. (All functions of the ID integrated
keypad work properly.)
Potential causes and corrective actions
:
Verify the proper wiring and connections from the ID Exit Panel to the Remote Keypad.
Reverse the connection of the ribbon cable on the Remote Keypad.
Inspect the connector on the Remote Keypad and ID Exit Panel, looking for a broken or shorted keypad
connector.
There may be a broken or loose conductor in the ribbon cable. Test each conductor for continuity.
Check both ends of the cable to ensure that all seven pins are plugged in.
Make sure the ribbon cable is connected to the seven pins, not the nine pins, on the back of the ID Exit
Panel.
There may be a defective keypad button. Replace the Remote Keypad.
Symptom 13:
The ID Exit Panel does not lock out the elevator when the panel is in alarm and the elevator
door is open.
Potential causes and corrective actions
:
Verify the wiring to the elevator control is connected in the ID Exit Panel.
Remove the wire from the elevator interface connectors. Test the relay for open and close. AUX relay
should be open with no alarm present and closed when alarm is present. (Make sure the wires are
connected to the NO and common.)
If the relay works properly, the problem is within the wire run to the elevator controls or in the
elevator controls.
If the relay does not work properly, replace the ID Exit Panel.
Symptom 14:
The ID Exit Panel is operating properly, but the PM Mode does not seem to be working
properly. The panel does not arm at the programmed time.
Potential causes and corrective actions
