8. SUMMARIZED SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The digital radio control system SC 30 has been developed especially for controlling the operations of
truck-mounted concrete pumps equipped with a placing boom. The system is protected against elec-
tromagnetic disturbance and radio frequency interference. Transmitter and receiver are interconnec-
ted by means of a radio communication link. The data security protocol used protects transmitted data
from loss or corruption caused by disturbance and interference. The possibility of operating the ma-
chine by means of signals from other transmitters nearby is excluded. If the radio communication is
affected in exceptional cases by strong interference from other transmitters, the machine is automati-
cally switched to the EMERGENCY STOP state.
The transmitter is supplied with electric power from an exchangeable battery cassette. The battery
cassette is charged by means of a charger connected to the truck battery. A line-operated battery
charger is equally available. When the link cable is connected, the battery is charged via this cable.
The joysticks have 3 control function levels each. Thus, the radio control system can be used for con-
trolling all booms with 3, 4 or 5 sections as well as the 4-section boom with telescope from
SCHWING
. If any of the control function levels is not needed, the corresponding joystick movements
remain without effect.
As the transmitter is suitable for different boom types, the radio control system is ready for use only
after transmitter and receiver have been successfully "paired". Repeated "pairing" of transmitter and
receiver is possible at any time.
The receiver is installed in a suitable place of the truck-mounted concrete pump, but generally near
the boom column. The receiver is connected by cable to the VECTOR control. The connector for the
cable control is located in an easily accessible and protected place normally in the cabinet of the hy-
draulic emergency control center. The emergency control center is equally connected by cable to the
receiver.
The transmitting antenna is installed in the transmitter. The receiver is equipped with a removable
antenna. If needed, this antenna can be replaced by an external antenna.
The components of the radio control system:
- transmitter
- receiver with antenna
- battery charger
- battery cassette
- link cable
