Always use suitable grinding tools or abrasive bond
ing for the surface to be machined
(e.g. some surfaces have to be ground when wet).
1.
Transport the machine to its installation site
(
!
Chapter 5.2 ‐ page 28).
2.
Check the surface to be ground and remove any
protruding objects.
3.
Check the grinding tools for function and condi
tion and replace if necessary
(
!
Chapter 4.4 ‐ page 27).
4.
Either (dry grinding):
—
Attach external dust extraction at the suc
tion nozzle [36, Fig. E].
Or (wet grinding):
—
Check the water level in the tank [4, Fig. A]
and refill if necessary.
Dust extraction and water supply are provided
by the customer.
5.
Set the guide bar to the desired position if nec
essary (
!
Chapter 3.1.1 ‐ page 23).
6.
Remove support unit [7, Fig. H] from the ma
chine (
!
Chapter 5.2.1 ‐ page 29).
7.
Check the splash guard [10, Fig. A/K] for proper
position and function and, if necessary, correct
with Velcro strips [46, Fig. K].
8.
Adjust weight elements
(
!
Chapter 4.3 ‐ page 27).
There should be a 3 to 4 mm gap between the
splash guard and the grinding surface.
9.
Check the safety equipment for completeness
and function before starting up!
Risk of injury from inadvertent starting of the
machine!
Before plugging in the power plug, make sure
the machine is switched off!
The power socket serving as the electric supply
should be installed and provided with mains cur
rent according to local regulations!
10. Turn the
Tool rotation direction switch
[19, Fig. B] to
0 (middle position).
11. Join the connecting cable (extension cable) with
the proper power socket and plug the connec
tion cable’s coupling in the power plug
[37, Fig. E].
The installed drive battery is charged automati
cally.
Driving in battery mode
!
Chapter 3.5 ‐ page 26.
12. Either (manual control mode):
—
Turn the key switch [20 Fig. C] to
manual
mode (left).
Or (remote control mode):
—
Turn the key switch [20 Fig. C] to
remote control (right).
The
DUTY operation indicator light [21, Fig. C]
lights up.
The machine is ready for operation.
If no remote control signal is received within 5
minutes during remote control mode, the remote
control mode is switched off automatically (the
operation indicator light is no longer lit).

3.1.1 Setting the guide bar
The guide bar can be adapted to the require
ments for easy guiding of the machine. Special
settings are described in the corresponding
chapters.
1.
Securely hold the guide bar [2, Fig. A] or secure
it against falling and open the clamping lever
[41, Fig. F] until the locking disks [39, Fig. F] are
no longer engaged.
2.
Set the guide bar to the desired position and
close the clamping lever so that the locking
disks engage.
3.2 Performance indication
The display [16, Fig. B] of the control unit shows the
following:
— Machine type
— Total operating time
— Power (kW)
— Load (max. ▆▆▆▆▆▆▆▆ = 100 %)
When the machine is switched off, the value of
the operating hours counter is still displayed.
3.3 Manual control mode
The
Tool rotation direction switch [19, Fig. B] is
turned to
0 (middle position).
1.
Set the guide bar [2, Fig. A] to the desired work
position if necessary
(
!
Chapter 3.1.1 ‐ page 23).
The guide handle [1 Fig. A] should be set at
