6. In case of an inspection, the user of this product must keep the pressure vessel book provided by the
manufacturer available, attached to the other safety documents required by NR-13 of Labor Ministry
of Brazil, for as long as the vessel is used, until it is disposed of. The final user must follow the
resolutions set forth in NR-13 as to the installation, maintenance, and operation of the pressure
vessel (compressed air receiver). The useful life of a pressure vessel depends on several factors that
do contribute to determine it. This aspect must be monitored and established by a certified
professional, according to NR-13. Remark: The hydrostatic test carried out during the product
manufacturing does not replace the initial inspection, which must be carried out at the location where
the product is installed, duly followed up by a certified professional, according to NR-13 MTb. Schulz
S.A., manufacturer of the product, declares that the local legislation and inspection rule upon the
above provided information, and that all prudent, preventive, and wise safety procedures must
prevail.

This equipment:
has hot, electrical and moving parts;
when connected to the electrical power supply, it may turn on or turn off automatically due to tank's
pressure or to the tripping of electric protection elements;

may cause mechanical or electric interferences in nearby equipment;
must not work in places where non authorized people, children or animals may have access;
requires an authorized person to supervise its use and maintenance as well as the use of adequate
individual protection equipment;
must be installed and operated in well ventilated areas and protected against humidity or water
leakage.

Do not change the pressure switch , safety valve
and pilot valve
factory adjustment. If any adjustment to
the pressure switch and pilot valve is needed, call the nearest Schulz Authorized Technical/Distributor.
Never weld or carry out maintenance jobs on the tank, once they may affect its resistance or may hide
more serious problems. In case of leakage, cracks or deterioration caused by corrosion, stop using
the equipment immediately and get in touch with the nearest Schulz Authorized Technical/
Distributor .
Never run the tank above the maximum pressure indicated on its identification tag
.
Air compression is a heat generating process and parts and accessories are subject to high
temperatures. Therefore, one must be careful when handling them in order to avoid burns.
Do not carry out any maintenance jobs with the compressor on. Do not remove accessories attached
to the compressor when it’s pressurized. Do not clean or touch the electric components without
unplugging the compressor from the electric network. Not following the orientations may cause
physical and material damage.
The refrigeration air intake on the belt protector must always be clean to prevent the flywheel from pulling in
impurities.
Tampering with the cord grounding pin may result in electric shock.
Never clean the compressor's external surface with solvent (thinner). Always use neutral detergent.
Avoid the accumulation of solvents, paints or other chemicals that may cause damage or explosion
risk to the compressor.
Always use an electric extension cord according to specifications (see Table 3) which must not be amended.
If these recommendations are not followed, the user may be injured and the compressor's electric
components may be damaged, violating the warranty. When necessary, use a longer air hose.
Wear safety glasses and use hearing protection when operating the unit.
If the equipment presents any irregularities, stop its use immediately and call the nearest Schulz Authorized
Technical/Distributor .

Install the compressor in a covered, well ventilated area, free of dust, gases, toxic gases, humidity or
any other kind of pollution. The maximum environmental temperature recommended during work is 40 C
(104 F). For the compressor 10* to 30 hp models, remove the plastic cap located on cylinder cover.

Keep a minimum distance of 800mm (32 inches) from any obstacle and with minimum two (2) meters
of height in order to allow for good ventilation during operation and to facilitate any maintenance.

must be attached through a hose or expandable joints so that the loads, thermal
expansions, tubing weight, mechanical or thermal chocks or obstructions are not transmitted to the tank. Not
following these instructions may damage the compressor air tank.
Place the compressor on anti-vibration* absorbers (Figure 1) that must be on a concrete
base strong enough to bear the compressor's weight and water, when the hydrostatic test is carried out. Set
must be level and the absorber must be adequate to the equipment's weight and vibration. If operated
unleveled, the compressor will fail, thus voiding the Warranty.
* Component not supplied with the air compressor, except models MSV 40 MAX and MSW 60 MAX. Please,
read assembly instructions on “Vibration Buffer’s Assembly” Chapter 12.
For services in which the air must be free of oil or dust particles, the installation of
special air filters and air dryer after the compressor is obligatory. Please contact the nearest Schulz Authorized
Technical/Distributor for information or (
).
If the compressor has been purchased without motor**, follow the bellow mentioned procedures:
- Choose an electric motor according to its power, speed (number of poles), frequency and type, as indicated in
Table 1 - Technical Data.
- Line up the motor pulley with the compressor flywheel and adequately stretch the transmission belts, as
shown in Figures 2 and 3
Look for a specialized technician to evaluate the electrical supply and to select the adequate protection
and input devices.
Follow the local technical standards on low voltage electric installations.
Connect the motor's assembly of factory cables as indicated on its identification tag, in accordance to the
voltage and frequency of the electrical supply.
For your safety, the motor frame and pressure switch must be properly connected to the installation
grounding.
The electric input cables must be in accordance to the motor power, voltage and electrical energy source
distance (See Table 3 - for orientation).
For your safety, load breaker switch must be installed (before the fuse box) in order to interrupt the
power supply during the compressor maintenance or adjustments (it must be according to motor's
current, Table 3).

The incorrect installation of the grounding wire connector may result in an electric shock. If it is
necessary to replace or repair the cable or the connector, do not lead or join the grounding wire to
the neutral wire or other. The green wire, with or without yellow stripes, is only to the grounding
function. In case of doubts regarding the grounding information or whether the product is properly
grounded, make sure you contact a qualified electrician to verify the connections.

Important:
Choose an engine motor according to its power and speed
and check (calculate) the pulley/belt. Line up the motor pulley with the compressor flywheel and adequately
stretch the transmission belt, see Figures 2 and 3.
The pressure switch (P) shown on Figures 4, 5 and 6, is not valid for the direct air version models. A floating
switch used in artesian, accessory not supplied with the compressor, must be installed in sequence with the
power cord, or according to its manufacturer technical instructions.
A compressor with good dimensions (with pressure switch) will have roughly six (6) starts per hour, or
70% ON and 30% OFF/unload. (See instruction Troubleshooting Guide, Chapter 13). Air compressor two (2)
stages not frequently used will accumulate water in the crankcase (milky white color) what will damage moving
parts.
Electric Motor Warranty:
The electric motor warranty will only be granted if the installation instructions
are followed according to diagrams (Figures 4, 5 and 6) and start mode (Table 3).
