2. Proper use
Warning
To prevent damage to Schüco VentoTherm, the device
must be switched off in the event of a storm or hurricane.
Caution
To prevent damage to Schüco VentoTherm, the device
switches off in outside temperatures below -15°C.
Schüco VentoTherm cannot be installed in areas with sea
air or increased chemical pollution. For example, in pro -
jects in coastal areas or on an island and in projects where
there is permanent chlorine vapour (swimming pools).
Schüco VentoTherm must not be installed in a room with
a fireplace. If Schüco VentoTherm is to be operated in
a room with a fireplace, local fire regulations must be
adhered to.
Schüco VentoTherm is for installation in Schüco window
systems and is used to ventilate rooms. Integrated heat
recovery also permits pre-warming of the outside air as
it is drawn in. When Schüco VentoTherm is inactive, the
openings for outside and exhaust air are automatically
closed to prevent draughts. It can be used as a single-
room solution or as a complete system solution. On the
one hand, the filters that are quick and easy to replace in
the incoming and outgoing air prevent particulates, pollen
and insects etc. from penetrating into the room. On the
other hand, they minimise dirt formation on the Schüco
VentoTherm. Two volume flow levels (15 and 30 m³/h) can
be selected via an operating unit integrated in the outer
frame of the window. Controlled minimum air exchange
protects the living space against humidity.
The Schüco VentoTherm design fulfils all hygiene require -
ments of VDI 6022, is non-flammable and acoustically
optimised. A 230 V AC connection is sufficient for opera
-
ting the ventilation system. At approx. 13 W, the power
consumption is negligible.
2.1 Product types
Schüco VentoTherm Standard
Schüco VentoTherm Standard is equipped with 2-speed
ventilation.
Schüco VentoTherm Standard with filter monitor
Schüco VentoTherm Standard is equipped with 2-speed
ventilation and a filter monitor. The filter monitor reports
when the filter needs to be replaced.
Schüco VentoTherm Comfort
Schüco VentoTherm Comfort is equipped with 2-speed
ventilation. This design also features a CO
2
sensor and a
sensor to calculate air humidity. An automatic function
is also available, which switches the device to ventilation
speed 1, 2 or switches off in accordance with the sensors.
After disconnection from the mains (commissioning, chan-
ge of filter or power failure, etc.), the Comfort range device
will only run at speed 1 for the first 15 minutes.

Schüco VentoTherm Comfort is equipped with 2-speed
ventilation. This design also features a CO
2
sensor and a
sensor to calculate air humidity, as well as a filter monitor.
An automatic function is also available, which switches
the device to ventilation speed 1, 2 or switches off in
accordance with the sensors.
After disconnection from the mains (commissioning, chan-
ge of filter or power failure, etc.), the Comfort range device
will only run at speed 1 for the first 15 minutes.
The filter monitor reports when one or both filters are dirty
and need to be replaced.

The device is also fitted with LON interface to
integrate it into the building automation.
