3. You can now change the finger selected or
add fingers you wish to use for fingerprint
verification. You do this following the same
method described in steps 3-4 in section 5.1.
6.2 Changing your password
1. Select User Setting and then click “Fingerprint
Software Password Setting”.
2. Move your finger over the box as described
in step 5.1.4 in order to prove that you are the
correct user. Alternatively, click “Password”
and enter your password here.
3. You can now change your password by
completing the fields in the dialog box:
a) Enter a word or phrase under Hint to help you
remember the password.
b)Enter your current password under Original
Password (4-16 characters).
c) Enter your new password under New
Password (4-16 characters).
d)In the field Confirm New Password you must
re-enter your chosen password.
6.3 Time interval for fingerprint request
With this function you can set the time interval
for when you will be asked for fingerprint
verification or a password in order to change
the settings in the software. If unauthorised users
have easy access to your computer, it is a good
idea to set a short time interval so that your
password or fingerprint cannot be changed by
other people.
1. Select User Setting and then click “Fingerprint
Live Time Setting”.
2. Never Have To Verify Fingerprint Again is
selected by default and means that you will
never again have to verify with your fingerprint.
Deselect this option if you want to be asked
to verify with your fingerprint. After this you
can specify in the Minute field how many
minutes should elapse before you are asked
to verify your fingerprint.
3. Click “Confirm” to confirm the changes.
7 Encrypting and decrypting your files
You can also use the box’s fingerprint scanner
to protect files on your computer – i.e. files other
than those on the hard drive in the box.
7.1 Encryption
1. Right-click the file you want to encrypt. Click
”Encrypting”.
2. Move your finger over the box as described
in step 5.1.4 to encrypt the file with your
fingerprint. Alternatively, click “Password”
and enter your password here.
The file is now encrypted. You can tell this from
the small padlock that appears on the file icon.
7.2 Decryption
1. Double-click the file you want to decrypt.
2. Move your finger over the box as described
in step 5.1.4 in order to prove that you are the
correct user. Alternatively, click “Password”
and enter your password here.
The file is now decrypted. The padlock on the
file icon has disappeared.
8 OTB backup function
Apart from fingerprint verification, the box also
offers the OTB function, which stands for One
Touch Backup. This function enables you to back
up selected folders and files simply by pressing
a button on the box.
