Evokes the movie theater experience.
Speech
Enhances the sound of programs that contain mostly dialogue.
Custom Sound
Sets the bass, treble and dynamic range compression settings to those you
select using the Custom Sound menu. See “Adjusting Sound Options
Manually” on page 30.

You will hear the effect of the preset sound option you selected. If you are
dissatisfied with the effect, select another preset sound option.

When you finish, press EXIT to exit the menu.
Setting up Speakers
The HDTV has an internal large center speaker that is set automatically. Therefore,
you will not be required to specify a setting for it. You will, however, need to adjust
the speaker settings to reflect the type of speakers that you connected to the HDTV.
To specify the speaker setup:

Highlight the
Sound
icon and press ENTER.

and press ENTER.

To specify the front left and right speaker settings:

Highlight
Front L/R Speakers

Internal
if you would like to select the HDTV
internal Front L/R speakers, or highlight External if you
would like to select external speaker(s).

Highlight Large if you connected large, wideband speakers or highlight
Small if you connected small speakers. (If you selected Internal for the Front
L/R Speaker setting, the HDTV will automatically select Large. If you select-
ed External, you may choose between Large and Small.)

To specify rear left and right surround speaker settings:
•
Highlight Rear Ls/Rs Speakers .
•
Highlight Large if you connected large rear surround speakers or highlight
Small
if you connected small rear surround speakers or highlight
None
if
you did not connect any rear surround speakers.

To specify the subwoofer setting:
•
Highlight
Subwoofer
.

Yes
if you connected a subwoofer or highlight
No
if you did not.

Press EXIT to exit the menu.
NOTE
You can also select pre-
set sound options with-
out using the menus.
Press S.MODE on the
remote control and the
sound options display
appears. Press S.MODE
repeatedly to cycle
through the options.
until the option you
desire is displayed.
After 3-4 seconds, the
display will disappear
and the HDTV will be
set to the new sound
mode.
NOTE
When using external L
and R speakers, place
them in line with the
center speaker. This will
ensure that all the
sound from the front
speakers arrives at the
same time to the
viewer.
