Bluetooth Settings
The Bluetooth settings menu is used to set up many of the
characteristics of your device’s Bluetooth service, including:
•
Entering or changing the name your device uses for Bluetooth
communication and description
•
Setting your device’s visibility (or “discoverability”) for other
Bluetooth devices
Device Visibility
To access the Bluetooth Settings menu:
1.
From a Home screen, touch
Apps
➔
Settings
➔
Bluetooth
.
2.
Touch the
ON/OFF
button to turn Bluetooth ON
.
3.
Touch the check box under
My Device
to make your
device visible to other Bluetooth devices for two
minutes.
A countdown clock appears to indicate how much time
is left before Bluetooth visibility turns off.
Note:
Your device must be visible in order to connect to some
Bluetooth devices.
To change the length of time before Bluetooth visibility is
turned off:
1.
From the Bluetooth settings screen, touch

options

Visibility timeout
.
2.
Select a length of time that you would like for your
device to be visible to other Bluetooth devices. You can
choose from 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 1 hour, and Never
timeout.
Change Your Device Name
Note:
The name that appears for your device in Bluetooth
connections is the customizable Device name in
Settings. Changing your Device name for Bluetooth
connections will also change the name in other areas of
your device.
To change the name that appears for your device:
1.
From a Home screen, touch
Apps
➔
Settings
➔
About device
➔
Device name
.
2.
Use the keyboard to change your device name and
touch
OK
.
