5.5. Operation
ATTENTION!
During plowing the driving speed should be appropriate to existing road
conditions. During plowing driving faster than 25 km/h is forbidden.
The City plows are light duty plows which can withstand snow pressure up to 3 tons.
A schematic of permissible load distribution has been presented in Tab. 3, positions a), b) and c).
These plows often operate on uneven terrain and are subject to meeting immovable obstacles which
the operator often can not see, especially when covered by snow. For this reason the City plows have
been equipped with a number of overload safeguards:
the first is the lateral coping system, which allows for overcoming slight diagonal bumps by
adjusting to them. Plow construction allows the plowshare to tilt right or left by 6° in relation to
the mount.
the third are the folding blades which tilt by up to 90° thanks to which the plow easily can go over
obstacles of up to 10 cm (Tab. 2) – a condition of this safeguard is that the TPH must be set to
the floating setting.
Tab. 2. The working of the blade
This concerns one blade. The City 150 (K) / 180 (K) / 200 (K) plows have 4 blades each.

the fourth system is the patented construction of the mount which protects the plow from pressure
greater than 3 tons and from sudden collisions with an immovable obstacle. It works by absorbing
the energy of the collision through partial or complete breaking of the 8 M8 class 8.8 bolts
securing the mount's pressure plates (Fig. 18).
