3.5.1.1 Site Survey
Do the following to browse the APs available in your area and select one.

The SWSIP-1000 checks for and displays a list of available APs.

An AP’s SSID is followed by a number describing its relative
signal strength. The higher the number, the better the signal. A
“W” next to an AP’s name means that the AP uses WEP
encryption Select an AP to use.
3.5.1.2 SSID
(Service Set ID) The SSID identifies the Service Set with which a wireless station is
associated. Wireless stations associating to the access point (AP) must have the same SSID.
You can think of the SSID as being similar to a workgroup name in a Microsoft network. Do
the following to display the SSID that the SWSIP-1000 is using.
