Replacing Swappable Interface Modules (Optional)
Replace a swappable interface module in any of the following circumstances:
The module is faulty.
The module must be replaced based on networking requirements.
Make sure the optical modules connected to both ends of a fiber are the same type while replacing
swappable optical modules.
Replacing XFP/SFP+/SFP Modules
Take the following steps to replace XFP/SFP+/SFP modules are as follows:
1)
Wear an anti-static wrist trap close to your skin and have it properly grounded.
2)
Pull out optical fibers from XFP/SFP+/SFP modules.
3)
Push down the handle of the module you want to remove and keep it horizontal.
4)
Hold the handle and slowly pull out the module.
5)
Insert a rubber plug into the module and place the module in a packing bag.
Do not stare into the fiber during the operation to avoid eye injury.
Do not touch the edge connector while removing XFP/SFP+/SFP modules.
Replacing SFP+ Cables
Take the following steps to replace an SFP+ cable:
1)
Wear an anti-static wrist trap close to your skin and have it properly grounded.
2)
Gently push in the connector of an SFP+ cable. Pull the handle at the back of the cable to pull the SFP+ cable
connector out of the SFP+ port on the switch.
During the operation, make sure the SFP+ cable’s bending radius is no less than eight times as much as its
diameter.
Do not push cables too hard during the replacement. Be sure to replace cables correctly.
Replacing 40 G QSFP+ Module
1)
Wear an anti-static wrist trap close to your skin and have it properly grounded.
2)
Unplug all the optical fiber cable on the 40 G QSFP+ module.
3)
Push down the handle of the module you want to remove and keep it horizontal.
4)
Hold the handle and slowly pull out the module.
5)
Insert a rubber plug into the module and place the module in a packing bag.
