SECTION 12: SERVICING
12.1 Servicin g Instructions
After commissioning, the heater w ill req u ire
maintenance to be carried o u t ann u ally. If the heater
is u sed in a dirty or d u sty area, more freq u ent
maintenance may be necessary.
Installation, Ser v ice and Ann u al Inspection of the
heater m u st be done by a contractor q u alified
in the installation and ser v ice of gas or oil-fired
heating eq u ipment.
NOTE 1: After any maintenance or repair w ork,
al w ays test fire the heater in accordance w ith the
commissioning instr u ctions on Page 40, Section 10
through Page 47, Section 10.11 to ens u re all safety
systems are in w orking order before lea v ing the
heater to operate. Minor fa u lts may be traced by
u sing the tro u bleshooting charts on Page 56,
Section 14 through Page 62, Section 14.7 .
NOTE 2: Check all f u el pipes and pipe joints to
ens u re there are no cracks or gas leaks. Any cracks
in the pipes or pipe joints m u st be repaired.
NOTE 3: Inspect all s u spended components and
hard w are. Ins u re that they are in good condition,
properly tightened, and corrosion free.
12.2 Burner Maintenance
1. See the man u fact u rer’s information for specific
instr u ctions.
2. Clean the fan (and f u el filters, w hen fitted).
Inspect all components, incl u ding the flame
monitoring and ignition system, and correct
operation of f
u el control v al v es.
Falling Hazard
Use proper safety
equipment and practices to
avoid falling.
Do not use any part of
equipment as support.
WARNING
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, injury or property damage.
Burn Hazard
Allow equipment to cool
before service.
Internal components of
equipment may still be hot
after operation.
Explosion Hazard
Leak test all components of
equipment gas piping
before operation.
Gas can leak if piping is not
installed properly.
Do not high pressure test
gas piping with equipment
connected.
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect electric before service.
More than one disconnect switch may be
required to disconnect electric from
equipment.
Equipment must be properly grounded.
Severe Injury Hazard
Do not enter equipment while in operation.
Equipment may start automatically.
Do not operate with door open.
Installation, operation and service must be
done by a trained technician only.
