AUXILIARY BATTERIES:
The auxiliary batteries are located behind the access door
in front of the rear passenger tire, (see Picture B-P42). It is
recommended to grease the drawer sides on the battery
compartment drawer once every 3 months, more often in
wet climates (see maintenance section).
In order to access the auxiliary batteries, one must do the
following:
1. Unlock the battery access compartment.
2. Open the battery access compartment by turning
the locking "T" handle.
3. Slide out the battery tray.
To return the batteries to their storage location, reverse the
three steps above.
CAUTION: BATTERY ACID CAN BURN YOUR SKIN AND
DAMAGE CLOTHING. PROTECTIVE EYE WEAR AND
GLOVES SHOULD BE WORN WHEN HANDLING
BATTERIES. THE AGM BATTERIES ARE SEALED AND
SHOULD NOT LEAK, BUT CAUTION IS STILL ADVISED.
Observe all battery warnings and caution labels.
NOTE: Your vehicle is equipped with two 6-volt group GC-2
AGM auxiliary batteries. The electrolyte level in these
batteries cannot be checked and the caps cannot be
removed. See the battery manufacturers maintenance
recommendations.
REPLACING THE AUXILIARY BATTERY(S):
Replacement of the standard battery must be 6-volt, group
GC-2 deep cycle AGM or equivalent.
Ensure that the battery cable hex nuts are tightened to 10 ft-lbs, (see Picture B-P43).
Ensure that the inverter and battery disconnect are disconnected prior to disconnecting the auxiliary batteries.
