WINTERIZING

- Drain fresh water tank(s) and empty waste tanks.

- Drain the water heater by removing the anode rod. You will need a 1-1/16” wrench (see water heater

operating/instruction manual). The water pump should be turned off and the sink faucet opened to relieve
pressure before removing anode.

- Set the valves at the water heater to the by-pass position (at right angle to water lines).

- The “middle valve” should be turned in line with the tubing.

- Add 2 gallons of non-toxic RV approved antifreeze to the fresh water tank through the gravity fill. If your

Roadtrek has two tanks, add one gallon to each tank.

- Turn the water pump on and allow to prime.

- Open the hot and cold service to each interior faucet separately. Open the valve at the shower hose. Open

the toilet valve. Observe the antifreeze flow through all fixtures, then close each fixture. Ensure antifreeze
flows into all P-traps (sink, lavoratory, and shower). You may also consider adding antifreeze from the

container jug to the shower floor-pan trap.

- Open the grey and black waste tank valves and operate the macerator pump for about 20 seconds.

(for Roadtreks so equipped)

- Again open all interior faucets, hoses and toilet valve and operate water pump.

- Operate macerator briefly to drain waste tanks.

- Briefly open city water diverter valve, then close.

- Open the outside shower hot and cold faucet and pump antifreeze through shower hose if attached.

- Turn pump off and open a faucet to release back pressure. From outside, ensure antifreeze is present at

the city water fill by opening the backflow prevention valve (a pen or a screw driver tip will do to push
valve pin).

Reminder, to prepare your Roadtrek for spring and summer use, ensure all fresh water tanks are drained
and sanitized.
