the solenoid valve closes if an excessive water hardness is measured 3 times consecutively or if a mal-
function exists. In this way, the water supply to the consumers can be interrupted. Thereafter, no fur-
ther analyses are conducted. A deletion must take place by hand – or be subsequently programmed 
as in this example – by an external switch (switch station/control room) and the valve re-opened in this 
manner.

In the event of an instrument malfunction, including the instrument being switched off, a fault message 
is sent to a control room. A fault message does not occur if the water hardness is exceeded.

analysis is started.
