OVERHEAD DOOR INTERLOCK
AND SAFETY SWITCH (Optional)
The function of the overhead door interlock is to provide
protection for overhead doors working in conjunction
with hydraulic levelers. The door must be open before
the leveler can be operated, preventing overhead door
damage.
The design uses a limit switch mounted on the door
track. The switch is closed only when the door has been
opened, enabling the leveler RAISE button. If the switch
is open, no power will be available to the dock leveler
control box.
The interlock switch can be installed and wired to almost
any overhead door and hydraulic leveler, regardless of
manufacturer. See Figure 10 for details.
