Pub. No. 1120-R5 — June 2000
This equipment is shipped from the factory fully tested
and totally operative. The vast majority of operating
problems are caused by UNNECESSARY TAMPERING
BY UNQUALIFIED PERSONNEL. To conform to terms
of warranty, contact your local RITE-HITE
®
representa-
tive if you are having any difficulty with the leveler during
the warranty period. Do not risk voiding the
warranty by tampering with the equipment.
Check the oil level with the leveler in the full up position,
lip extended, SAFE-T-STRUT™ installed, and hydraulic
system (hoses and cylinders) filled with oil. The oil level
in the tank has to be at the FILL TO LINE marker on the
reservoir tank. When adding oil, use only MIL-H-5606
hydraulic fluid or equal.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1.
Block off leveler area to all forms of
traffic before raising any troubleshooting
procedures.
2.
Raise and secure the leveler by inserting the
top of the SAFE-T-STRUT™ through the pre-
drilled hole in the lip, then securely fitting
the bottom of the SAFE-T-STRUT™ onto the
SAFE-T-STRUT™ base.
3.
When working with electrical or electronic
controls, make sure that the power source
has been locked out and tagged according
to OSHA regulations and approved local
electrical codes.
4.
Be sure leveler is securely and safely braced
before performing any maintenance.
5.
Check the oil level before making any
adjustments.
Before attempting any troubleshooting pro-
cedures, verify that the APB-1000 has been
properly lubricated, and that all debris on,
around, or under the unit has been removed.
