(4) Replacing the hydraulic oil
(A) As a rule, the hydraulic oil should be replaced once a year. It should be also replaced in a
case where:
a) Dust has entered the oil;
b) The oil has an offensive odor;
c) With water entered, the oil has turned to milk white color; or
d) The oil has deteriorated and turned to dark brown.
(B) Before replacing the hydraulic oil, clean the oil tank and suction filter.
(C) Adding hydraulic oil
Remove the plug from the return port on the top face of the oil tank to add
oil. Ensure that the oil level is below the upper-limit line of the oil level
gauge.
(D)
Warning
If oil contacts an eye, thoroughly flush the eye with clean water
immediately for at least 15 minutes and consult a doctor. Also, if oil contacts the skin,
wash thoroughly with water and soap.
(E)
Caution
Waste oil generated by the pump is classified as an “Industrial Waste
Product”. Consult the local regulatory agencies and dispose of the oil through a licensed
industrial waste collection agency or industrial waste processing agency.

Output operation
Inverse output based on upper limit
comparison
The pump is shipped with the settings above. When changing the settings, follow the
procedure shown in (5) "Changing the settings." The output operation setting, however,
should not be changed because changing it disables the pump to start.
Caution
Use ISO VG32 hydraulic working oil (RIKEN POWER OIL) only. Phosphoric
ester, water-glycol, and w/o emulsion oil should not be used; if any of them is used, the
packing seals will deteriorate and the equipment will fail due to corrosion or others. Consult
RIKEN or RIKEN’s authorized agents if these kinds of unapproved oils are used. Ensure that
the oil level is lower than the maximum level line of the oil gauge when adding oil to the oil
tank.
