6. Instruction Manual
Paper and types:
The paper has its own characteristics during production, like weight, glossy or matt,
cardboard type or not, grain direction etc. At your company the paper goes through
further processes, which might change the characteristics of the paper, like
warnishing, or laminating not mentioning the type of your printengine.
If you follow the next instructions, you can be sure that the book that you produce
will be a high quality demanding product.
1. Grain direction: It is very esential to look the grain direction not only at the cover
page, but as well as on the inside sheets. The grain direction should be paralell with
the spine. If the inside sheets grain direction is not correct, than the sheets will not
fold/bend easily and it might cause spine brake. When the spine brakes, the paper will
fall out. Moreover, due to the wrong grain direction the paper sheets will be curvy.
2. Don’t use folded sections on this machine, since the milling depth is only 0,5mm, it
is not enough for cutting the folded section of the book.
3. Keep the paper falt. When there are too much air inside the sheets or the papers
are curvy, the book block won’t look as a perfect bound book.
Also keep the cover page flat as possible, to be sure that the bounded books will be
perfect. Incase the covers are not perfectly straight and during the binding process
the book block can touch the cover, and it cause that in some areas we have too much
glue and in some areas we have no glue.
4. Make sure that the print is aleady dried and it won’t leave any mark on the clamp
station or on the binding station, because it affects the quality of the bounded book.
5. Please prepare the book block well, and when you insert the book into the clamp
make sure that it is standing stable on the sarting plate and the side sheets won’t fall
