LANC

. The LANC is the LAN controller that controls communication with the

sublayers below the MAC in the OSI model. MAC, or the media access control,
is sublayer 2 of the OSI model. The OSI (Open System Interconnection)
reference model, is a 7-layer fruitcake framework upon which network standards
