: If an incoming fax requires two sheets to print,
the machine prints an "
∗
" inside a small box at the
bottom right hand corner of the first sheet. Then, it
prints a "2" inside a small box at the top right hand
corner of the second sheet. This helps the user
identify pages that have been split up.

After a long continuous print on paper with a
narrow main scan width, offset can occur in the
next job if the next job is on paper with a wide
main scan width, or due to differences in the length
of the interval between sheets, the number of
sheets, and the quality of the paper.
The 1 setting is intended for users that run
successive print jobs with a wide variety of paper
sizes and types. Otherwise, do not change this
setting.
