Clearing a Paper Misfeed

This section describes how to clear a paper misfeed when one occurs.

CAUTION

When removing misfed paper, do not touch the fusing
section because it could be very hot.

Important!

Hold a misfed sheet with both hands and slowly pull it out. Do not use a tool, such
as a screwdriver or tweezers. as this may damage the unit.

Type 1

Pull the top release lever (

) and open

the top unit (

Pull out the toner cassette.

Note

• Be sure to hold the toner cassette by its handle.
• Keep the toner cassette horizontal to avoid

spilling the toner.
