Troubleshooting/Maintenance

7.1 Troubleshooting

Problem

Possible Cause

Display is blank when the POWER button is 

depressed

Discharged batteries

Replace batteries

Defective battery

crane, increase the filtering or increase the size of the scale increment

‘d’; It is also possible to increase the motion window; Contact Rice

 Lake Weighing Systems if you have a problem getting the MSI-4260M

 to zero, tare, or total due to stability issues

Setpoint lights blink

Setpoint is enabled and the trigger

point has been reached

Disable set points if they are not needed

Manual total does not work

A function key is not set to “Total”

Set up Func1 or Func2 for “Total”

The weight must be stable

Increase filtering for more stability

Auto Total does not work

The weight must be stable

Wait for stability annunciator to turn on, or increase filtering

Weight thresholds not reached

Capacity must exceed 1% for autototal to work; Capacity must drop

below 0.5% of capacity for additional weighments to register
