Deploying the Tactical ResQmax
1. Conduct a visual inspection to ensure that the Bridle Lines are properly connected to the
“live end” of the Line and that the “dead end” of the Line is connected to the Eyelet on the
Launcher if applicable (Fig. 23f, pg. 25).
2. Fully depress the Valve Key in the vertical position, and rotate the Valve Key 90º clockwise
to the horizontal position. Release the Valve Key (Fig. 14, pg. 15).
3. Check the Pressure Gauge to verify pressure. (No pressure reading on the Pressure Gauge
may indicate that you did not successfully open the Nozzle Valve or that your Projectile was
not charged with air when loaded in the Launcher.)
4. Press the Safety Push Knob to put the Safety in
OFF
position (Fig. 11b, pg. 13).
5a. For
horizontal line deployment
hold the butt of the stock against your shoulder as you
would a firearm, at a 35 degree angle aiming OVER the intended target (Fig. 24a).
CAUTION
:
The Climbing Lines and Tactical Ladders are intended for vertical deployment and are
too short to deploy horizontally at full service pressure. A Climbing Line deployed horizontally at full
service pressure will reach full extension in approximately one second and apply a concentrated force
on the “dead end” of the payload - which may result in the loss of the Launcher equipment and injury
to the operator. Use the Launcher Bleed Screw to reduce pressure to suit length of payload being used
(refer to page 16).
5b. For maximum
vertical deployment
of a Climbing Line or Tactical Ladder and Grappling
Hook hold the Stock of the Launcher against your shoulder and aim approximately 10 degrees
clear of the intended target and at 80 degrees to a horizontal plane (Fig. 24b).
CAUTION
:
Once deployed, the Climbing Line and Grappling Hook assembly will descend toward the
operator very quickly if the Grappling Hook does not engage at the target. Extreme care must be taken by the
operator to avoid being hit by the Climbing Line or Tactical Ladder and Grappling Hook during its descent.
6. Using two fingers, squeeze the Trigger. Hold the Tactical
ResQmax steady as the Projectile leaves the Launcher and
the Climbing Line or Tactical Ladder is deployed.
Note:
Adequate
training in
all aspects of
the use of this
equipment
is essential
in order to
familiarize
yourself with its
safe operation
and capabilities
- and to deploy
it with accuracy.
