Measuring the width and height of the print media
The width (and height for XPS-90) must always be measured, via
the printer, in particular every time the print-media is changed.
•
Place a sheet of media into the transport bands, in front of
the safety flap plate.
•
If the XPS-80/90 is not in off-line mode, press the
start
key.
Width measuring key function
:
If it is pressed only briefly, the measured width will not be
permanently stored and will be overwritten by the PC ap-
plication program. If the
key is pressed for about 3
seconds, an “(L)” appears in the display. This shows that
the width is “local locked” and cannot be overwritten by
the PC application program.
•
Press the
. The XPS-80/90 will feed the print media and
briefly display the measured width.
•
Read the displayed value of the measured width. Compare it
with the actual width of the print media to check that they are
equal. If not, you must determine what is causing the inaccu-
racy, before you can continue.
•
XPS-90 only. You will now be asked to measure the paper
height. The XPS-90’s transport system will briefly pause.
During this pause, place the print media, rotated by 90
°
, onto
the transport bands, in front of the safety flap plate.
•
XPS-90 only. After the pause, the printer will feed the print
media and briefly display the measured height.
•
XPS-90 only. Read the displayed value of the measured
height. Compare it with the actual height of the print media to
