5. Installation and operation
5.1 Inserting ink cartridges
Suitable ink cartridges are:
Black ink: C6131A
Versatile Black ink: C8842A
Red C6168A, Green C6169A, Blue C6170A, Yellow C6173A
Ink cartridges may be purchased from your local RENA dealer
or directly from our on-line shop at:
http://
www.renausa.com/ink
Observe the notes on “Handling the ink cartridges”, in Section
2.2, as well as the directions given by the cartridge manufacturer.
•
Remove each cartridge from its packaging and carefully re-
move the protective tape from the cartridge.
•
Fully release the restraining levers before inserting cartridges.
To avoid damaging the cartridge restraining levers and
to insure that the cartridges makes proper contact with
the electronics, the restraining levers must be used to
move the cartridges into their final (locked) position.
Each cartridge should be
inserted into its cradle (pen
stall) from above and pressed straight downwards. Do
not press back on the cartridge. The cartridge should
still have a slight tilt before the restraining levers are
closed.
