XPS80 only. Position the print units in the XPS-80 manually
over the desired print position. Fix the print units carefully in
place with the clamp levers.

Measure the thickness of the print media and lay it onto the en-
trance area of the transport system.
•
Raise the carriage until the print media can pass safely under
the print units. Use the Media thickness dial, to raise or lower
the carriage. The numbers on the dial represent millimeters;
their subdivisions tenths of millimeters Use the scale as an ini-
tial reference, but set a slightly higher value (~2 mm larger)
than the measured thickness of the media.

Next, push the print media by hand under the print units and
carefully
lower the print unit until the correct spacing (0.8mm)
has been set. If you hear a whirring or rattling noise when
pushing the print media through manually, you are exerting too
much pressure on the pinwheels. Increase the spacing until the
noise can no longer be heard.
