AUTO-GLIDE TRIGGERING
This function introduces a glide between notes without re-triggering the envelopes. As featured on many classic
monophonic synthesizers (1 voice only), this ‘guitar-style’ glide occurs on DARKSTAR XP2 when a note is held
down and a second note played (if the PART polyphony is set to 1 voice). When PART polyphony is set to 2 voices,
and more than 2 notes are played, the 3rd note played will ‘steal’ the 1st note but the envelopes will not be re-
triggered. TYPE 2 portamento will be used regardless of the current portamento setting. If the 3rd note is released,
the 1st note will be re-instated, again, without re-triggering the envelopes. This feature allows polyphonic auto-
glide.
To setup conventional auto-glide the PART polyphony should be set to 1, AUTO-GLIDE should be ON and
PORTAMENTO type should be OFF.
To access the AUTO-GLIDE function, press the MENU button labelled [PORTA/TRIGGER], as shown in the
following example:
The indicator in the [PORTA/TRIGGER] button will light and the main display will now alternate between the first
function and its current value, as shown below:
