10. Charging the battery
10.1 Rechargeable battery
If the lifting and lowering of the lifter arm becomes
noticeably slower, then the battery charge is too
low.
Recharge the battery as soon as possible!
This extends the lifetime of the rechargeable
battery. Rechargeable batteries that are not
used for an extended period of time should be
recharged every 6 months in order to avoid
low charges. Otherwise the charging capacity
of the battery is negatively impacted. The life-
time of the batteries (according to the manu-
facturer, is up to 5 years) depends on the
loading and the charge level.
10.2 Connecting and charging
Follow the safety instructions!
Check over the charging unit to be sure that the
connector cables or the plugs are not damaged.
DO NOT USE cables or plugs that are damaged!
Use only REBOTEC charging units.
Check the power mains voltage (section 7.2) and
the corresponding circuit protection for the
charging unit.
Do not open up the battery or charging unit un-
der any circumstances!
The Hoist may not be used or operated while
the battery is charging!
When charging the battery, first remove the protec-
tive lid (1) from the jack of the control unit (K). Next
insert the plug (2) into the jack and then plug the
charging unit (3) in the power outlet.
Depending on the battery charge level, the charg-
ing process can be as long as
20 hours
. If the
charging process lasts longer than 21 hours, then
the rechargeable battery or the charging unit is
defective.
When the rechargeable battery is charged up, first
unplug the charging unit from the power outlet and
then remove the plug of the charging unit (2) from
the jack of the control unit (K). Lastly cover the
jacks again with the protective lid.
Whenever the charging unit is not in use,
do not wind the connector cable around
the housing of the charging unit. This leads
to damage to the cable and to the plug.
10.3 Charge level
An indicator lamp (LED) for the charge level is
located above on the cover of the control unit (K).
The display is visible when you look directly at the
viewing window from the front.
LED dark:
No power supply
LED green:
Battery is charged,
power supply at hand
LED yellow:
Battery is charging
LED blinking

Yellow:
charge is 20%.
Peeping tone:
Battery charge < 20%
Only one remaining lift cycle is
possible!
Battery
must
be
charged
– otherwise the low
charge protection system will
block the drive unit.
.
11. Emergency OFF function
When pressing the red
emergency OFF button,
it
locks into position. The drive system is interrupted
and cannot be operated with the manual switch. It
must be activated in emergency situations and/or
when proper operation of the Patient Hoist is im-
paired.
By rotating the
emergency OFF button
clockwise,
it will pop back out and thus be released. The drive
unit can then be operated using the manual switch.
