With the strut removed from the spring
compressor, remove the factory strut
shaft spacer.
Retain the spacer. It will be installed
in a later step.
Remove the factory bump stop and dust
boot.
Remove the seal head bump cap.
NOTE: A CHISEL OR SIMILAR TOOL IS THE BEST
MAY TO REMOVE THE CAP.
Before removing the spring perch, mark
the orientation of perch to strut body. En-
sure the mark is long enough to be visible
once the preload spacer is installed.
Remove the lower strut coil perch.
Install the preload collar over the strut
body. Ensure the collar is completely seat-
ed on the retainer clip.
