33.7 NAVIGATION Display
The
Navigation display is organized to provide comprehensive navigation
information in a clear and distinctive manner. Components of the display
are as follows:

Bar
Across the top of the Navigation display is the
title bar which confirms that the
NAVIGATE
POSITION
display is selected. In the center of
the title bar, an indicator will be displayed
showing if magnetic correction
(
MAG
)
is ap-
plied to your heading and bearing readouts.

Name &Number
The next line
shows the
number,
name and/or symbol information concerning
the selected waypoint. The bearing(BRG) from
your present position and distance-to-go (DTG)
to the
are displayed on this line.
3 Course, Speed,
The next line shows the vessel’s CRS course over ground, the vessel’s SPEED
either Over-Ground or through the water, and
the Tie-to-go to the
destination at the current speed.
4 Position Data Display
The Navigate-Position display uses larger characters to show your Lati-
tude/ Longitude or
(ifavailable) position data. In the title bar POSITION
an indicator, labeled
will appear if any position offsets are added
to
your
Latitude and Longitude readouts. The title bar also shows the source
of the position data,
GPS
or
NAVAID.

Depth,
Log
The next line shows
the
of the water, the
of surface
seawater, and the

distance.

Message Bar
The last bar
is the Message box. This area is used to alert you of all the
various warnings or alarm indicators such as
ARRIVAL, OFF COURSE, DEEP,
