6.1 CALIBRATING MACHINE TO BEANS - DIALING IN 10 GRAMS
PLEASE NOTE: This step requires you enter programming. Please refer to section 3 of this manual for guidance in how to
enter programming and how to navigate in the programming mode.
This step is critical to the proper function of the Egro 55 series machines. It gives the machine an accurate starting
point to produce all drinks. It is unique to the roast of espresso or coffee beans. If you change the roast of beans
used in the machine you will need to adjust this calibration by repeating the steps outline below.
You will need your gram scale to complete these steps. Please perform these steps before programming any drink
parameters.
REFER TO SECTION 3 FOR COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO ENTER THE PROGRAMING MODE
1.
Enter programming menu as described in Section 3.3.
1.1 Insert programming key, turn clockwise 1/4 turn
1.2 Press the number 4 button on the key pad
1.3 Enter the PIN code 1849, but pressing the 1, 8, 4 and 9 buttons

Scroll (using button 5) to the Confi g 1 menu and press enter (button 1).

Scroll (using button 5) to the Grinders submenu and press enter (button 1).

TIP: First: set your grinder to produce the coarseness of grind you prefer.
Activates Left grinder to perform test to calibrate machine. Adjust grinder until grounds weigh 10 grams.
Machine records the time it takes to grind 10 grams and uses this as bases for all product settings.
TIP: If you adjust the coarseness of the grind, run grinder test twice before weigh grounds again. This
will clear the chute of previously ground coffee.
TIP: First: set your grinder to produce the type of grind you prefer.
Activates Right grinder to perform test to calibrate machine. Adjust grinder until grounds weigh 10 grams.
Machine records the time it takes to grind 10 grams and uses this as bases for all product settings.

Left Grinder, grinding time in seconds to produce 10 grams of coffee.
